Conversations with our team to assess emotional needs and plans for going forward
Ongoing discussions about concerns, fears, decisions, birth, family inclusion, grief and mourning and more
Advocacy attendance at appointments with patient and medical care team as needed
Help with Birth/Parenting Planning to help gain some control and make intentional decisions
Guidance on welcoming baby, involving family, saying goodbye, going home, back to work and more
Hospice support or referral to such support
Ongoing Support
Short term one-on-one ongoing support
Support or online support groups
Referrals and networking with resources such as peer support, counseling, literature, support groups and more
Guidance for enhancing couple, sibling and family communication and interactions
Bereavement guidance
Wellness Visit
It is our hope that we empower providers to offer a Wellness Visit (dream it and it will come?)
This typically should occur within 2 to 6 weeks following the birth. (Insurance dependent)
Some of the common topics discussed with the doctor are:
Physical well-being
Milk production or donation update
Hormonal and postpartum issues
Autopsy and testing overview
Related issues for future pregnancy decisions
A grief specialist then helps assess and discuss topics such as:
Emotional and spiritual well-being
Coping techniques being utilized
Return to work issues
Family, community, children, and couple communications and relationships
PTSD, normal grief and loss feelings and behaviors
A multitude of healing modalities--color and sound therapy, EFT, accupuncture, Reiki, essential oils, yoga, meditation,...
Resource sharing--support options: groups, one-on-one grief mentor, talk therapy, literature, Social Media options...
